The bar is raised for WLS administrators who take the Oracle Certified Professional, WebLogic Server 12x Administrator certification exam.
The ideal candidate for the exam has an impressive foundation in and hands-on experience with the administration of a WebLogic Server and holds the Oracle Certified Associate WLS 12c or 11g Administrator credential. Certification gives candidates the skills to perform advanced system administration tasks in complex environments and proves proficiency in and a firm understanding of Oracle WebLogic Server Administration.
Oracle WebLogic Server 12c is more cloud-ready than before. New features, such as Dynamic Clusters and Elastic JMS, make it much simpler to deploy WLS in a private, public, or both cloud.
Because strong experience and up-to-date training are strongly recommended before candidates attempt to take the certification exam, Oracle offers an excellent training program to help them succeed. However, before taking this exam, candidates must have one of the following prerequisites: Oracle Certified Associate, Oracle WebLogic Server 11g System Administrator, or Oracle Certified Associate, Oracle WebLogic Server 12c Administrator.
Oracle offers two helpful training classes that, when completed, exponentially increase candidates’ chances of passing the exam. The first leads to earning the Oracle WLS-12c: Adv Amin Certified Professional Credential and the second is the Java Learning Subscription.
During the exam preparation process, candidates are taught to identify the correct steps and related issues involved in performing rolling upgrades. This includes backup, shutdown, upgrade, and restart. By the end of the training, they can describe what a “rolling upgrade” is and how it differs from other upgrades and to identify upgrade types that are officially supported for WebLogic rolling upgrades. They will also be able to identify issues with multiple installation locations and domain locations.
Exam preparation is rigorous, but the benefits of becoming certified far outweigh the time and effort spent.
