Candidates planning to become certified by taking the Microsoft Dynamics exam for Finance and Operations Applications Developer are already developers who work with finance and operations apps in Microsoft Dynamics 365. Before applying for the certification exam, they should understand how to extend and implement apps that meet business requirements.
Before taking the exam, candidates should be experienced in the areas of knowing how to develop business logic. They should also understand the principles necessary to create and modify operations and finance app reports and workspaces and to customize the UI. Other necessary skills are being able to provide endpoints and APIs to support Microsoft Power Platform applications and all external systems and to perform testing. Monitoring performance is something the exam candidate should know, as well as how to manipulate and/or analyze dats and how to manage implementations by using ALM, or application lifecycle management.
Pre-certification candidates should also understand how to create technical designs and implementation details and how to implement permission policies and security requirements. All candidates should also have experience with services and products that include, but are not limited to Microsoft Visual Studio, DataVerse, Power Platform Admin Canter, Azure DevOps, GitHub and Microsoft 365 reporting tools, such as SQL and SSRS. The exam is divided into seven sections that cover skill sets that are appropriate to the position of certified developer. They include an in depth knowledge of how ot plan the architecture and solutions design. They should understand how to design and develop AOT elements, and how to develop and test code. From 10-15% of the exam involves implement reporting, and 15-20% is dedicated to integration and management of data solutions, leaving the last 10-15% to the implementation of security and performance optimization.
